Russ, Avery and Brynn @ the hospital.

Jaxon finally eating after 10 days. He loves DIBS!!

We thought Jaxon had the stomach flu turns out that he had a ruptured appendix. Jaxon spent 8 days up at Primary Childrens Hospital. We took him in thinking he was dehydrated from the flu. They did some blood work and found out that his kidneys were trying to fight off something. Finally, 12 hours later they did a CT Scan and saw that his appendix had ruptured. They immediately took him in for surgery. He was pretty sick, since his appendix ruptured 4 days prior to the surgery, there was a lot of toxins in there. Marcus and Jill came over Tuesday night and into the morning and watched the girls. Russ spent the nights at the hospital and I spent the days at the hospital. Brynn went to various friends houses and Avery spent the day with me at the hospital. Friday at 2 am Brynn woke up throwing up. So Friday I stayed home with her and Russ went into work for about 4 hrs. Jaxon was pretty upset about staying in the hospital alone. He had a great tech named Whit that he really like, so that made him feel a little better until Russ got there. Jaxon got many visitors Bishop and Stana, Chad, Kennedie, Marcus, Jill, and James, Snake and Alan, The Larsen's, and his Primary Teachers loaded up the bus with some of Jaxon's Primary class. Russ, Grandma Wilding, and his Primary Class bought him some Legos and Bionicles to put together to pass the time. Jaxon had to do another CT Scan to see if there was an infection. He had to drink this yucky orange drink. He was not happy about that. The nurses were so great with him. I really have a new appreciation for nurses. Especially Pediatric Nurses. They have to be tuff! I realized a few things while in the hospital, that Jaxon really isn't that sick compared to most of the children up there, that I am blessed to live so close to such a wonderful hospital, that I have the most wonderful family, friends, and neighbors. Our neighbors brought many dinners over and helped us out with Brynn at nights when Russ and I traded places. It hasn't been as easy as I thought coming home. Jaxon still has a PICC line in his arm. The home nurse came and taught us how to give him his antibiotics through his PICC line. It is quite the process. Let's just say it has to be given every 6 hours and it is a 2 hour process. I am so truly grateful to have everyone under the same roof again!

Poor guy! That is crazy! I am so sorry that you had to go through that. So scary, especially as a mom. He is the same age I had my appendix out. I was really lucky mine didn't rupture. I can't imagine how scary that can be. What a tough kid! I am glad that you are all home and that he is getting better. Hope you are doing okay! So glad you have family and a great ward family there to help out. We will keep him in our prayers!

How scary for you and your family. Yes, you are so lucky to live right by Primary. I think about that often, cuz you know how kids are. Glad that you are all together again.

I remember when Piper was up there, she one of the healthiest babies there, it was really hard.

HOLY SMOKES!! I had no idea that was going on at your house. I am glad that it turned out well. That can be very serious. What a trooper you are. There is nothing worse then having a really sick kid.
