Ballet

Ballent has begun. This is Avery's 1st year at Mrs. Melanie's. She looks forwared to Ballet every week. I still need a picture of Brynn. She also still enjoys ballet! It is funny that Avery wants to wear all black every week. Brynn likes her pink still.

First Day of School 2011

The kids started school on August 25th, 2011. It is always bittersweet. I love to get back into a routine of some sort, but then the soccer, dance, back to school nights, and driving everyone to these things start. It is good though! I wouldn't have it any other way. Brynn actually only went the first day of school for 1 hour then didn't go back until the following week. That is why she has to first day of school pictures. The kids are getting so big. I really can't believe my Jaxon is in the 6th grade and my little Brynn is in Kindergarten. I have thought of this day many times because this is the only time when Jaxon will be in the same school as the other kids. I am so glad he is there with Brynn. He picks Brynn up from her class everyday and walk her down to the meeting spot for carpool. I think I would be a nervous wreck if he wasn't there to help her. I have been able to volunteer in Brynn's Classroom on Wednesday's. I love being able to go and see what she is learning. We also have had the opportunity to help out the Kindergartner's at lunchtime. I am glad to see that the kids are improving at opening there own milk and getting through the lunch line without spilling. That was another one of my fears for Brynn. She loves school lunch and Jaxon can't stand it. So, this year no school lunch for Jaxon. It has been two months since the kids have been in school and everything is going well, so far! Brynn even got to celebrate her birthday again at school. She also lost her 5th tooth at school.  Avery has also started Joy School. She has waited for this day since Brynn went to Joy School. She absolutely loves it. I love it also!!!

Hobble Creek Half Marathon (13.1 miles, in case you didn't know!)

Me and my friend Debbie made a goal to run a Half Marathon back in March. We started our training in June and accomplish our goal on August 23. It really was a lot of work, getting up every morning and running. I made 3 goals for myself for the race: 1-Finishing, 2- Running the whole time, 3- Finishing under 2hrs.. Surprisingly I accomplished all three. I am so glad that I set this goal for myself. I am also grateful for my friend Debbi for getting me up in the morning. I am also grateful for my supportive husband that had no doubt that I could accomplish this goal. I think he really was surprised that I finished under 2 hours though. Anyway, this next summer I will go for a full Marathon. I just need to choose one. I still can't imagine running 26 miles but, I didn't think that 13 miles was possible. I can do it, right?

Trying to fit in a last few activities before school starts....

We went to the Hogle Zoo with the Anderson's and Gasser's. The kids had a great time with there friends. They loved the train and carousel the most. Later that week I took the kids to the Davis County Fair. It had a lot of activities for the kids. I let them pick one thing to spend there money on. Jaxon chose ice cream, Brynn and Avery chose a nail painting kit. I watched my friend Liz's kids one day. They had so much fun making bubbles in the pool and painting each others faces. What a great way to end the summer!

Blundell BBQ 2011

Every year our neighbors, the Blundell's put on a huge BBQ. This year they had a massive blowup obstacle coarse. They kids loved it. They got to use it before the crowds showed up, which was nice. At the BBQ there was face painting, Captain Jack and his pirate ship, a clumsy ninja, some weird people on stilts, Where's Waldo, DJ Lance, Bubble Pool, Candy Cannon, a swordsman, the balloon guy, Princess Amerah, Cotton Candy, Snowcones, tons of yummy food, Power Burgers, BMX boys, a lady that gave massages, and much more that I am sure I am missing. We had so much fun! Thanks Blundells for the Best BBQ Ever!!!
