December 1st 2011 we had the worst windstorm in a long time. I worked that night at Kohl's. When I got off of work at 1:45 in the morning it all started. The wind got up to 102mph. It was the longest night of my life. It sounded like the roof was coming off our house. Things were hitting the house all night long. The power finally went off around 6:00 that morning. It was getting cold and the winds were getting worse. We decided to pack up the kids and take them to Megan and Chads house until everything calmed down. Around 7:00 pm the power finally came back on. So, we packed the kids up and went home. There was a lot of damage to our roof, fence, siding, and much more. We were very lucky to have no broken windows or any trees uprooted. We will always remember how everyone pitched in to help each other out. The insurance did pay for a new roof and helped out with other damage to our house. So that was a blessing!
