My parents came for the week and watched my kids while I went to Girls Camp up at Beaver Mountain. I am so grateful that they were able to come and help Russ and I out for the week. The kids really enjoyed spending time with them. Girls Camp was so much fun. Our theme was ARMY. We actually stayed in tents, not in a cabin. We all were in charge of a couple of meals that we had to cook for all the girls. We went on a pretty good hike. I learned many songs about missionaries and boys. There was a stupid human trick night and a all natural fashion show. One day we spent at Bear Lake. While there we had a relaxed at the beach, ate yummy food, and had an obstacle course. That day was so much fun. I learned to love these girls and the leaders much more than I already do. Many memories. I only cried three times because I missed my kids. Not bad!!
It seemed like we got to enjoy a whole weekend of fireworks because the 4th was on a Monday. So the festivities began on Friday. Friday night we decorated the kids bikes and they were in the Centerville Kids Parade. Then later went on the Centerville fire road to watch the fireworks. Saturday morning I ran a 5K with Debbi, Kara, Zoe, and Jess. Then, our family went to the Centerville Parade. Saturday evening we had a BBQ with my parents and then did fireworks at our house with our neighbors. We had a close encounter with death that night when the neighbors firework tipped over and started shooting at us. I've never run so fast in my life! I just remember my dad sitting in his chair and then falling back to avoid the fireworks. It was all in slow motion! So dang funny!!!
Monday night we went over to the Peterson's to let off more fireworks. Earlier that week Russ and Dave went to Evanston, WY to get a ton of fireworks for this night. Everyone from the neighborhood donated fireworks. It is a tradition every year that my kids really enjoy! Best show ever!
